My career path

“After a 6-months internship at Verger Delporte Industries to complete my Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Industrial Computing, I was hired in the Automatic Control System department to design controller programmes, BMS supervision operations and on-site commissioning. Later, I was able to join different departments in the organisation:

• Sales: preparation of quotes for the Titan LV switchboard
• Management: control of the balance sheets of the TITAN LV switchboard project
• Marketing: design of the documentation for the Titan and Fleurion switchboards and the Orchestre product line

These tasks provided me with an open mind on the various specialities and enabled me to understand the challenges of the company in which I have continued to develop to this day. The acquisition enabled me to move up to a new professional challenge and obtain the position of Quotes Department Manager”.

Why this profession and why COMECA?

“My experience within the Group has historical roots. In 1998, the companies VDI and Dehais merged to form IEC (Electrical Industry of Cergy). In 2000, IEC was acquired by the leader of the electrical cabinet market, the COMECA Group. This is an experience that enables me to combine the technical and commercial aspects of the job”.

My responsibilities

My current position consists in building proposals for the range of OEM switchboards and spare parts, ensuring the reliability and quality of cost calculations and participating in the product improvement loop based on customer feedback. In addition, on an everyday basis, I organise and manage a team of Sales Technicians.

My career path

“In all my previous jobs, I held the position of R&D Engineer, whether in the field of consumer goods, military technology or aeronautics. After recently joining the COMECA teams, I now hold the position of R&D Manager within the Group’s Power Electronics division.”

Why this profession and why COMECA?

“What I like best in my profession is the high level of required technical expertise. I am passionate about physics and electronics in particular, and my profession requires real technical expertise. I am also drawn to the “design” part: seeing your design take shape and work, observing and measuring the results, etc. For me, this is real satisfaction and a strong motivating factor.

What I particularly like about COMECA is the opportunity to share knowledge and skills with my team, and to develop converters for scientific research. The technical challenges involved in this activity are a continuous source of improvement of my knowledge and experience”.

My responsibilities

“My main tasks are dedicated to the development of power converters integrated into electrical cabinets. Working on multiple and concurrent development projects, I manage the R&D part in interaction with different departments: purchasing, project managers, production, sales and customer service.

Moreover, my role as Manager involves regular discussions with my team to resolve difficulties, update schedules, or check the progress and proper course of on-going projects. This is a job that combines technical expertise and management, which is exactly what I was looking for”.

My career path

“After I finished my training as electrician by apprenticeship, I joined COMECA in a variety of production jobs: wiring worker, busbar operator, inspector, customer support, etc. Later on, I developed skills in design, where I learned to design automation control panels. My development did not stop there, as I was offered the position of Production Manager, which I held for 6 years. Backed by 16 years of experience within the Group, I currently hold the position of Site Manager.”

Why this profession and why COMECA?

“I was always fascinated by the field of electricity. The profession of builder of electric switchboards attracted me by its variety of integrated specialties (electricity, mechanics, design, etc.). The expansion that COMECA was already undergoing at the time prompted me to join the Group.

What I find exciting in my job is the “team management” part. COMECA supported me by providing me with training in management of human resources. At the same time, my needs for novelty and constant challenge are met by the stimulating industrial projects and the versatility required of my job.”

My responsibilities

“My long experience within the Group has provided me with a good understanding of how it works. On an everyday basis, I organise the teams, manage production, coordinate strategy with all the related departments and monitor the performance of the site. This requires not only technical skills, but also good knowledge of the overall activity of the company as well as leadership, organisation and the capacity to take stock”.

My career path

“After my university studies in a technical field, I joined Alstom T&D, which later became a COMECA Group subsidiary, as a manufacturing technician.  Very soon, this human-sized group offered me career development opportunities, while also contributing to my academic studies toward an engineering degree and an executive MBA, to complement my profile”.

“Over my 15 years of employment, COMECA offered me a wide variety of exciting positions, both in France and on relocation worldwide. From manufacturing technician, I became Project Manager and continued to develop by creating and establishing production sales representation subsidiaries in Indonesia and Australia. Within this continuum, COMECA later offered me the management of our production site in Morocco”.

“Being responsible for more than 200 people in a production environment is undoubtedly a demanding task. However, the job of Site Manager is also a source of real satisfaction. Being the “orchestra conductor” of a diverse and varied team of men and women from different backgrounds, all of them mobilised toward the same production goal is highly rewarding. COMECA offers mobility and career development opportunities even to young employees. This is one of the Group’s advantages that I greatly appreciate”.

My responsibilities

“I am currently responsible for the operating account of COMECA Maroc, the local subsidiary, and in charge of the compliance of the entire Moroccan production with respect to quality, cost, deadlines and safety. Between development projects at industrial excellence level and personnel development, the Site Manager’s tasks are extremely diverse and varied.”

My career path

“After completing a management and business administration academic programme, during my final year of study I specialised in Human Resources. Later on, I began working in various sectors such as large-scale retail, the aerospace industry as well as in survey audiences and statistics. These general-level positions in various fields of activity have enabled me to manage dissimilar issues. I joined the COMECA Group in 2010 and have held the position of Human Resources Manager since then”.

Why this profession and why COMECA?

“I decided to specialise in Human Resources during my studies, because for me, the human component is THE key value of a company. A company’s performance reflects its capacity to mobilise and deploy the potential of its human capital. It is the skills of its people that determine the value of a company.

This is particularly true at COMECA, where the professional skills of people are of primary importance in carrying out design and manufacturing of dedicated and non-standard equipment. I chose to join the COMECA Group because it is a human-sized company whose values I share and which leaves me a degree of autonomy to meet the determined objectives, which is very important”.

My responsibilities

I accompany operational personnel on a daily basis for issues related to human resources. Thus, I manage, among others, individual and collective labour relations, training, recruitment and remuneration policies as well as the application of the Group’s HR policy within the entities within my responsibilities. Belonging to several legal entities allows me to handle a variety of issues so that work never becomes routine. This makes me feel that I contribute to the growth of the Group and is professionally fulfilling”.
